 The Society of Authors have been doing excellent work in the AI safeguarding arena, ensuring that creatives of all disciplines - not just authors - are being protected in upcoming legislation around the use of generative AI that is trained on the existing work of artists.
They've created a website to this end - and ongoing petition that has been endorsed by the likes of Kate Mosse, Kazuo Ishiguro and Ian Rankin, as well as almost 35,000 other creators. aitrainingstatement.org I've signed. If you are a creator, I would urge you to as well.  I've been feeling extra 'flames' these days now that I've received a very special delivery from South Africa's finest radio station (if I do say so myself) HOT 102.7FM!
Here I am sporting their delightful baseball cap reminding you all of their excellent old school and R&B classics playing daily on HOT. I also have a very friendly HOT CARES teddy bear keeping me company in the studio, as well as a lovely mug keeping my vocal chords warm when I'm recording new imaging for South Africa's award-winning radio station. It's nice to be nice, and it's very nice to have reminders of the great clients and companies I work for surrounding me in my studio every day. When I got on board as Staycity's brand voice this time last year I quickly learned that this is a company that takes hospitality very seriously, even with their voice actor! A few weeks after I landed the role, I was sent this Dublin #GAA jersey for my boy, who Staycity sponsor, as you may know. I felt it was high time it had an outing in the gloriously brief October sunshine this weekend.
