The Glass Door is launched.

It took seven years, but a little over two weeks ago I finally officially launched my debut novel, The Glass Door.

The feelings of terror and excitement beforehand were real, and despite being a trained actress and working voice over I couldn't quite keep the tremor out of my voice as I spoke and read from the book. With so much emotion and worth tied up in this book, building as it had been for seven years of rejections and dead ends and wins and joys, I felt I had to face so much when I stepped on the stage - an appropriately transitional space for me to launch this next stage of my career as an author. But I did it, and I am so glad I could. 

The Mutiny theatre venue was a warm and atmospheric place to launch, with its very own friendly (it felt to me) ghost inherited from the old Focus, the theatre's last incarnation.

The bright and brilliant poet Kerrie'OBrien introduced me, along with my wonderful agent and publisher, Paul Feldstein. There was wine and laughter and signings and book chat and many lovely faces. I'm enormously grateful to Paul and Mark of Mutiny and the incredible eye Susan Lynch for her photography and videographry, and everyone who helped and listened.
