Back in October 2014 I worked on an RTE show called The Speech - it feels like a very long time ago now! Last night, the first episode of the new 4-part series aired at 9.30pm on RTE ONE.
It's a show that follows four different individuals with a crippling fear of public speaking, and puts them through various tasks in order to break through that fear. Each person has a big speech coming up, so each task is another barrier to overcome en route to the 'boss battle' - to use a gaming term! - of the final hurdle. The fear of public speaking is one of the most universal in our voyeuristic modern society, so it is sure to appeal to almost all of us. Tune in next week (if you're not hooked already) to catch up. It's a different person's journey each week, so you won't miss out if you come to the party a little late. I will be appearing in the third episode alongside Joan Lucey, airing on Sunday the 24th of May at 9.30pm on RTE ONE. Below is a trailer for the first episode (that can be watched on RTE Player here) with a nervous Brian Casey, and his mentor Gerald Kean. Enjoy!
